    Abstract: A disc chucking unit for supporting a disc (2) loaded on a disc table (3) for rotation in unison with the disc table (3) is constituted by the disc table (3) on which a disc (2) is placed and which is rotationally driven by a rotating driving unit, a fitting member (11) arranged at the center of the disc table (3) and fitted into a central opening (2a) of the disc, and a plurality of ball-shaped member (13) reciprocably mounted in the fitting member (11).
