Abstract:
There is provided a content distribution system using the Internet employing the multi-cast method. Information on each sub license of a main body of ECM (Entitlement Control Message) includes a license ID which is sub license identification information, type information indicating whether the sub license is for preview or main view, and a location indicating the storage position (the number of bytes from the head of the ECM main body) in the license section of the sub license. The license section contains the sub license.
Abstract:
The object is to provide a data structure appropriate for performing rights management for multimedia-type contents, to further provide a recording medium containing data with the data structure, a reproduction device and a reproduction method for reproducing the data. The present invention is a computer-readable recording medium having recorded thereon license data for permitting a computer to use contents data comprising a plurality of resources, and the license data includes a resource-based use condition configuration structure, in which a use condition is set for the computer with respect to each of resources.
Abstract:
A digital data delivery method for use in delivering digital data from an upstream system to a downstream system, said upstream system providing multipoint delivery of encrypted digital data to specific destinations, and said downstream system decrypting the delivered digital data, said method comprising the steps of: encrypting digital data by said upstream system using an encryption key; generating a plurality of pieces of key information on the basis of said encryption key, respective pieces of said key information being specific to each of said specific destinations; delivering said respective pieces of key information to each of said specific destinations over a plurality of delivery routes which differ from routes for delivering said digital data and which are further different from each other; delivering the encrypted digital data; restoring said encryption key by said downstream system using said respective pieces of key information delivered over said plurality of delivery routes; and using the restored encryption key to decrypt the encrypted digital data.
Abstract:
A digital multiplex transmission system wherein the rate of convolution codes can be changed over in accordance with an object of a user without changing the transmission rate. A frame for transmitting system data, first preliminary data, second preliminary data, scramble control data, audio data, video data and Reed-Solomon codes is constructed by allocation of them such that a boundary between each adjacent region may make a vertical straight line. Data of such a frame are coded by convolution coding and then transmitted. When the transmission line is in a deteriorated condition, the rate of the convolution codes is reduced to increase the correcting faculty for the convolution codes. In contrast, when the transmission line is in a good condition, the rate of the convolution codes is increased to transmit a large amount of data.
Abstract:
A passenger vehicle polling system is capable of polling one or more terminal units (30), where each terminal unit is provided at a different one of a plurality of passenger seats in a passenger vehicle such as an aircraft, to obtain information indicative of the state of each terminal unit (30). The polling is accomplished by transmitting a polling command signal from a head end apparatus through a transmission line (21) to the terminal units (30). Preferably, a sensor (39) is mounted adjacent each passenger seat to sense the status of the passenger seat. The sensed information is transmitted as a polling answer signal through the transmission line (21) to the head end apparatus so that the status of each passenger seat and the condition of each passenger can be checked at the head end apparatus, such as on a monitor display (81). Further, the system may transmit audio and video programmes to the terminal units (30), and the polling answer signal may indicate which audio or video programme has been selected at each terminal unit (30).
