Abstract: 1411040 Transistor amplifiers SONY CORP 30 Oct 1973 [2 Nov 1972] 50400/73 Heading H3T A high frequency amplifier, e.g. a frequency converter, comprises an amplifying stage Q1' Q2, an emitter follower transistor Q3 having a base bias resistor R5 and an emitter resistor R7, an impedance matching circuit C7, L3 connected between the output of the amplifying stage and the base of transistor Q3, the operating voltage for the amplifying stage Q1, Q2 being derived via the bias resistor R5 and the coil L3. Resistors R7, R8 in the emitter circuit are selected for proper matching with an output load. When used as a converter, the matching circuit C7, L3 also functions as a low-pass filter to remove undesirable high frequency components. In the alternative embodiment of Fig. 3 (not shown), the output resistor R8 in combination with a further capacitor forms a further low-pass filter.
