Abstract: The invention relates to a temperature-driven valve assembly (6), comprising: a channel portion (13) for fluidically connecting two chambers (4, 5) for receiving a fluid, the channel portion having a through-opening (16) for the fluid; and at least one switching element (8) having an opening configuration in an opening temperature range and a closing configuration in a closing temperature range. The at least one sealing element (10), when in the installation position, is spaced apart from the at least one switching element (8) in the opening configuration along the movement axis (A) such that a primary fluid path (11) fluidically connects the two chambers (4, 5) through the through-opening (16) and between the at least one switching element (8) and the at least one sealing element (10). The valve assembly (6) comprises at least one recess (14) in the channel wall (9). A projection of the at least one recess (14) along the movement axis (A) is completely surrounded by a projection of the sealing surface (9A) along the movement axis (A). In an operating position of the sealing element (10), in which the sealing element (10) is spaced apart from the at least one sealing surface (9A) along the movement axis (A), a secondary fluid path (15) fluidically interconnects the two chambers (4, 5) through the at least one recess (14).

Abstract: In a piston-cylinder assembly comprising a cylinder in which a piston rod is installed with freedom of axial movement and which is filled with a blocking medium, a braking device becomes active when the piston-cylinder assembly moves faster than a defined speed and thus limits the speed to a desired extent. A valve body divides the cylinder into two working spaces, which are connected to each other by at least one flow-through opening. As soon as the defined speed is exceeded, the dynamic pressure in the working space elastically deforms a disk, which has the effect of at least partially sealing off the flow-through opening(s) in opposition to the forces trying to keep them open. The elastic deformation of the disk represents a closing movement relative to the cross section of the flow-through opening(s). The disk takes the form of a valve ring, which is installed in a valve ring groove with a certain freedom of axial movement. The valve ring moves toward one or the other side wall of the groove depending on the direction of movement and thus at least partially seals off the minimum of one flow-through opening as a result of the dynamic pressure-induced deformation of the valve ring.

Abstract: According to an illustrative example of the invention, a gas spring (11) is combined with a telescopic tube (12) which is axially slidable on the cylinder (9) of the gas spring. The piston rod and the telescopic tube are provided at the respective most remote ends thereof with fastening eyes (15). The telescopic tube (12) can be fixed in a plurality of positions with respect to the cylinder (9). For such fixation, the cylinder is connected with a carrier within the telescopic tube between opposite end walls of the cylinder and the telescopic tube. A locking bolt (18) is guided within the carrier in a direction transverse to the axis of the telescopic tube. This locking bolt is engageable with a corresponding plurality of openings (19) of the telescopic tube. The locking bolt is biased by spring means (20) into an engagement position with respect to a respective opening (19) and can be released from such engagement by being inwardly pressed by an operator.
