    Abstract: In a method of briquetting particulate fuels or ores with a particulate binder such as bituminous coal which is fusible at a temperature lower than that at which the material to be briquetted, if fusible, fuses, the material to be briquetted is heated by contact with a hot gas to a temperature above the fusion temperature of the binder and the binder is heated by the same hot gas to a temperature below its fusion temperature so that when the material to be briquetted and the binder are mixed together the binder is fused and the mixture can be briquetted. The material to be briquetted may be coke breeze and the briquettes may be coked.
