    Abstract: The liquid fuel injection pump has a longitudinal bore (12) with a rotary distributor (14) journaled in the bore and providing a pair of generally radial communicating non-coaxial bores forming a pumping chamber therein. A pair of pumping plungers (24) are slidably mounted in said non-coaxial bores with a cam ring (32) with cam lobes (34,34a) mounted about the axis of rotation of the pumping plungers (24) to impart simultaneous inward movement to the pumping plungers as the distributor rotates. The distributor (14) and the longitudinal bore (12) define chamber means (58) in continuous communication with the pumping chamber. The chamber means (58) are angularly disposed to create a hydraulic force on the distributor (14) substantially radially aligned with but in a direction opposite to the radial vector (A) of side loading imposed on the distributor (14) during pumping.
