A new reactor apparatus that can be used to carry out chemical reactions in a fluidized catalyst bed at high temperatures with reduced afterburning or other undesirable downstream side reactions. One application is the manufacture of acrylonitrile.

In the process for the conversion of maleic acid to gamma-butyrolactone. 1.4-butanediol and/or tetrahydrofuran, a feedstream comprising maleic acid is hydrogenated in a first hydrogenation zone to produce a reaction product comprising succinic acid and unreacted hydrogen which is then supplied to a second hydrogenation zone, where succinic acid is converted to 1,4-butanediol, the temper atures of the feedstream comprising maleic acid and the first hydrogenation zone are controlled such that the temperature of mal eic acid in the feedstream and the first hydrogenation zone does not exceed about 130 DEG C, thereby minimizing the corrosive effects of the maleic acid and prolonging reactor life and improving overall process economics.

La presente invencion se refiere a un proceso para la conversion de acido maleico en gamma-butirolactona, 1,4-butanodiol y/o tetrahidrofurano, en donde una corriente de alimentacion que comprende acido maleico se hidrogena en una primera zona de hidrogenacion, para producir un producto de reaccion que comprende acido succinico e hidrogeno que no haya reaccionado, el cual se suministra despues a una segunda zona de hidrogenacion, en donde el acido succinico se convierte en 1,4-butanodiol, y las temperaturas de la corriente de alimentacion que comprenden acido maleico, y de la primera zona de hidrogenacion, se controlan de manera tal que la temperatura del acido maleico en la corriente de alimentacion y la primera zona de hidrogenacion, no exceden aproximadamente 130¦C, por lo cual se minimizan los efectos corrosivos del acido maleico, y se prolonga la vida del reactor, y se mejoran los aspectos economicos de todo el proceso.

Invenţia se referă la un barbotor pentru injectarea unei fracţiuni de alimentare cu oxigen, într-un reactor cu pat fluidizat. Barbotorul cuprindeo conductă distribuitoare pentru introducerea fracţiunii de alimentare cu oxigen, cel puţin o conductă laterală ?i cel puţin o duză având unorificiu. Conducta distribuitoare, conducta laterală ?i duza sunt cel puţin parţial izolate termic la suprafeţele exterioare, pentru inhibarea transferului termic. Duza include un înveli? careare o suprafaţă a secţiunii transversale mai mare decât suprafaţa secţiunii transversale a orificiului, izolaţia înconjurând înveli?ul substanţial pe întreaga lungime a acestuia, precum ?i o manta a înveli?ului care înconjoară înveli?ul, izolaţia fiind întreruptă între înveli? ?i mantaua înveli?ului.

A sparger includes a conduit for conducting an oxygen feed, a nozzle connected to the conduit for passage of the oxygen feed from the conduit to the outside of the sparger, the nozzle including an orifice and a shroud, and insulation surrounding the conduit and also the shroud substantially the full length of the shroud. A method is provided for producing acrylonitrile via propane ammoxidation, comprising introducing propane and ammonia feeds into a fluid bed of a fluid bed reactor, and introducing an oxygen feed into the fluid bed through at least one insulated and jacketed sparger nozzle for reacting with at least one of the propane feed and ammonia feed in the presence of a fluid bed catalyst.
