Abstract: High-mol. polymer, useful as protective enamel for elec. wire, was prepd. from trimellitic anhydrides, trimellitic aromatic or aliphatic diamine and diisocyanate. Thus, trimellitic anhydride or tirmellitic acid and primary diamine with 1:0.7-0.9 mole ratio were condensed at 210-250≦̸C to give low mol. anhydride. This polymer was condensed with diisocyanate with 0.1-0.3 mole (max. 0.75 mole) per anhydride at 25-150≦̸C in inactive solvent to give high mol. polyamide-imides.
