Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hearing aid by which a rate of distortion in an output signal is minimized even for an input voice signal whose level is high so as to provide a clear voice to the user. SOLUTION: A hearing aid 10 is provided with a preamplifier stage 60 that has an input terminal 64 and an output terminal 78 connecting to a voice detection means and whose gain is adjusted depending on a level of a signal at the output terminal 78 and with an output amplifier stage 90 that has an input terminal 84 connecting to the output terminal 78 and an output terminal 102 connecting to an electroacoustic conversion means 98 and whose gain is automatically adjusted in response to a level of the signal at the output terminal 102.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gain compression amplifier having a linear gain over a wide dynamic range by using a gain compressing technique. SOLUTION: This gain compression amplifier 60 is provided with an amplifier 62, a gain controller 64 connected between the input and output of this amplifier 62, and a gain control circuit 66 connected with the output of the amplifier 62 and connected with the gain controller 64. The gain control circuit 66 compares a voltage at the output of the amplifier 62 with a prescribed threshold voltage, and generates a gain control signal. The gain controller 64 operates according to this gain control signal, and continuously adjusts the gain of the amplifier 62. This gain compression amplifier 60 is used for a hearing aid so that voice distortion can be minimized, and the convenience can be improved for a user.
