Abstract: A method for isolation and quantification of naphthenate forming acids (ARN-acids) in crude oils is disclosed. The method involves selective absorbtion/adsorption of ARN acids by a solid medium. Isolation of the solid medium and transferring the ARN acids to an organic solvent which can by analysed for its ARN acid content.
