Abstract: TRISUBSTITUTED BENZOIC ACID INTERMEDIATES Novel trisubstituted benzoic acid chloride intermediates are useful in the preparation of certain herbicidal 2-(2,3,4-trisubstituted benzoyl) -1, 3cyclohexanediones. The benzoic acid chloride intermediates of this invention have the following formula wherein R6 is C1-C4, alkoxy or C1-C4 alkylthio; n is the integer 0 or 2; and R7 is C1-C4 alkyl.
