    Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve a clamping effect by constituting a clamping device in such a manner that the device consists of first and second clamping parts for clamping a wire part in-between and a means for holding clamped parts and that at least one of these clamping parts have clamping surfaces which are roughened by the grit fixed to the surfaces and have the hardness higher than the hardness of the material of the wire member. CONSTITUTION: The clamping parts 2 have cylindrical outside surfaces 2A fitted to a casing 1, annular shoulders 2B for transmitting axial load to this casing 2 and inside annular tapered surfaces 2C. At least one piece among the clamping parts 2, a false insert 4 to be inserted into the first layer 3B of the high tension wire and an intermediate insert 5 tapered to the conical shape between the wire layers are roughened by the grit fixed to the surfaces and are provided with the clamping surfaces harder than the material of the wire (3B, 3C) member. As a result, the segments of the inner ring are clamped to the armor wire more securely to the inner sleeve and are capable of sufficiently withstanding the load when tension load is applied to the armor wire.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To make it possible to withstand against a load in the direction of a shaft, which is given on a cable during laying/restoring work, by permitting the trailing end of a king wire to move in the direction of the shaft so as to prevent compression force from being given to the king wire in a joint and near an optical fiber package when an abysmal pressure acts on the jointed cable. CONSTITUTION: A sea-case acts as a pressure proof casing and an tensile strengtta material. A pair of half shells or liners in the sea-case support partitions 9 and 19 at opposite end parts. The two partitions 19 are held by holding nuts 21 against split liners 2A and 2B and the respective partitions have annular recessed parts 19A with which the liners are engaged. The nuts 21 are screwed to an internal screw end part 18A in the sea-case 18. A pressure pipe T and a package P are sandwiched between an upper clump part 20 and a lower clump part 4, which are fixed to the respective partitions 19 by a screw 24 in a joint casing. The fiber package P has a 'built out' pipe whose external diameter is applied to be similar to the pressure pipe T. Thus, the damage or the subtle bending loss of the fibers in the package can be prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To easily disassemble parts, for reducing the tensile strength of a wire by providing a nipping part for nipping a wire, a means for making the nipping surface have a certain angle to the longitudinal direction of a cable and a trumpet-type wire-guiding surface. CONSTITUTION: An optical fiber submarine cable comprises an electrically conductive metal tube 1 closely surrounded by internal and external tensile strength strand layers 2, 3, formed of steel having high tensile force. The anchoring device comprises a first and a second nipping parts 3A, 2A for nipping a wire between nipping surfaces 4A, 5A and 5C, 6A, a means for holding the nipped parts to each other and making the nipping surfaces 4A, 5A and 5C, 6A have a certain angle to the longitudinal direction of a cable and a trumpet type wire guiding surfaces 4B, 5B for guiding a wire from the direction in parallel to an axis in the longitudinal direction to the direction parallel to the nipping surfaces 4A, 5A and 5C, 6A. The nipping angle is in the range of 45 deg. to 90 deg.. Therefore, parts can be disassembled easily, and the wire tensile strength can be reduced by about 5%.
