The seat part is provided with seat depth adjustment part and with active and passive thigh flex support part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a chair which is moved in the longitudinal direction along a user's back not to rub the back and produce wearing-away and discomfort feeling by arranging a chair back part and a chair seat part in such a manner that the common axis on which the above parts mutually turn is positioned adjacent to a point H, that is, a hip joint of a user. CONSTITUTION: A chair back part and a chair seat part are connected to each other in such a manner as to freely mutually turn on a common axis positioned above the chair seat part 6, in front of the chair back part 5, and substantially adjacent to a hip joint of a sitting user to limit the adjacent space relationship between the hip joint and the common shaft. The chair back part is supported on a base 4 to enable backward inclination of the chair back part. Further, the chair seat part is supported on the base to move the chair seat part on the base, so that the backward inclination of the chair back part simultaneously shifts the positions of the chair back part, the chair seat part and the common axis to keep the adjacent space relationship between the common axis and the hip joint of the sitting user and give improved sitting comfortableness and support of the user.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve seating comfortability and durability of a chair, by providing a sideward rigid bar extending horizontally between an upper and a lower back parts of a back support inner shell to resist against bending in a horizontal plane. CONSTITUTION: The back support inner shell 27 forms an upper back 34 extending upward beyond the upper end of the back frame 8 and presents a bendable comfortable seating feeling. The back support inner shell 27 is placed extending between a lower back 33 to put fix the upper of the back frame 8 and an upper back 34 extending upward structured horizontally bendable and a side rigid bar 37 to resist against horizontal bending is put extending horizontally. Consequently, horizontal bending of the upper back 34 following twisting of the user body is hampered not to effect the lower back 33 thanks to the side rigid bar 37. As a result, eventual strong twisting motion in the upper back 34 would not cause stress focused onto fixture parts of the back frame 8, which would prevent them from getting damaged and satisfy the durability.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the shirt, etc., of a sitting person from being turned up by setting the rear inclining angle of a back frame and the tilting angle of a seat part by a controlling mechanism to be in a specific relation so as to control a posture so that the seat part approaches in a horizontal direction by synchronizing with this at the time of the backward tilting of the back frame. SOLUTION: A chair is constituted by providing a supporter 6 with a base assembly including a back frame 8 pivotally connected in the state of being capable of tilting between a standing posture and a forward inclined posture, a seat back part 48 supporting the hips of a sitting person, a seat 14 with a seat front part 47 supporting the thigh part of the sitting person, and a seat supporting means 7 provided with a rear part supporting means supporting the part 48 to a base part 81 in the neighborhood of the axis of the back frame 8 and a front part supporting means supporting the part 47 to the supporter 6. The rear part supporting means of the means 7 restricts the rear inclined angle α of the back frame 8 and the inclined angle β of the part 48 to be α>β by a control mechanism 95 moving the part 48 back/forth and up/down with respect to the base part 81 of the back frame 8 at the time of tilting the back frame 8.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To ergonomically improve seating comfortability of a chair, by shifting the position of a common shaft to turn around the chair back to the seat keeping the adjacent space with the hip joint of a user. CONSTITUTION: Front part 37 of the chair seat 6 moves downward and rearward along the arch rail as a spring 145 bends downward and the chair back 5 tilts rearward since a guide 147 has a downward arch shape. Rear of the chair seat 6 would turn clockwise to the chair back 5 since the carrier face 93 and its engageable carrier pad 95 have both upward arch shape. Common shaft 7 rotates around the back pivot 10 along the arch together with the hip joint H-point 13 on keeping the adjacent space relation between the common shaft 7 and the H-point 13. Concurrently, the chair seat 6 and the chair back 5 rotate relatively around the rotary common shaft 7 to cause a synchronous tilting movement of the chair. Combination of these rotary motions would give the user considerably natural and comfortable bending reaction and a comfortable back support keeping pulling of shirts reduced.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable user seating in a chair to keep comfortable position during tilt operation, by sinking the user's hip together with tilting of the back concurrently moving the thighs rearward linking with the tilting. CONSTITUTION: Seat front of the seat support inner shell 26 formed into a flexible seat is jointed to a supporter 6 through a front support means 7b as well as its seat rear is jointed to a back frame 8 through a rear support means 7a. As the tilt bearing 46 of the back frame 8 facing the supporter 6 is positioned downward the seat, the hip and the back of the user are jointly tilted without rolling up the her of a wearing garment. Further, the seat front is moved backward as the front support means 7b makes a part of a rearward mechanism to move the front supporter 130 back interacting with tilting of the back frame 8. Thus the user can keep a comfortable position without getting trousers wrinkled as the thighs are moved rearward jointly with the front seat on the hip sinking down together with the seat rear.
Abstract:
A chair control includes a fixed housing, a back support bracket rotatably secured to the fixed housing for movement about a back tilt axis between a fully uprigh t position and a fully reclined position, and an energy source for biasing the back support bracket toward the fully upright position. A tension adjustment mechanism including a bell cran k is pivotally attached to the fixed housing, the bell crank including a first leg having a threaded member thereon and a second leg operably engaging the energy source. The tension adjustment mechanism further includes a threaded rod engaging the threaded member and rotatably engaging the fixed housing so that the threaded rod can be rotated to move t he threaded member along the rod in a selected axial direction to thus pivot the bell crank and in turn change the tension provided by the energy source.
Abstract:
An armrest construction for chairs includes an armrest support having a lower end constructed for attachment to a chair, an upper end, and a mounting block attached to the upper end. A pivot block is pivoted to the mounting block at a main pivot, the pivot block having an upwardly-extending follower. First and second gears are each pivoted to the pivot block, the gears having intermeshing teeth at an inner end such that rotation of the first gear causes the second gear to simultaneously rotate in an opposite direction, the first and second gears further having outer ends. A support plate having pivot/slide members engages the outer ends of the first and second gears, and further has a guide operably engaging the follower to guide lateral movement of the support plate along a predetermined path. The support plate is rotatable about the main pivot to adjust the angular orientation of the armrest construction and is laterally movable along continuously parallel positions to adjust a width of the armrest construction relative to the chair. The armrest construction is mounted on a vertically-adjustable armrest support member for optimal adjustability.
Abstract:
