    Abstract: A pointing method to generate screen-frame displacement data based on 3D-space movements of a pointing electronic device (1), envisages: receiving attitude quaternion data (q), indicative of an orientation of the electronic device (1) in the 3D-space, generated by a sensor-fusion algorithm from joint processing of an acceleration signal (Acc), indicative of acceleration acting on the pointing electronic device (1) along three reference axes (X, Y, Z) of the 3D-space, and of a gyroscope signal (Gyro), indicative of angular rate of rotation of the pointing electronic device (1) around the three reference axes (X, Y, Z) of the 3D-space; processing the quaternion data (q) to determine an orientation difference between a current orientation and a previous orientation of the electronic device (1) in the 3D-space; translating the orientation difference from the quaternion space to tilt-compensated angular rate of rotation (g x , g y , g z ) of the electronic device (1) in the 3D-space; and generating the screen-frame displacements based on the tilt-compensated angular rate of rotation in the 3D-space.

    Abstract: The device (10) and the method are directed to detect presence or absence of human speech. The device and method utilize a low-power accelerometer (14). The device and method generate an acceleration signal using the accelerometer, filter the acceleration signal with a band pass filter or a high pass filter, determine at least one calculation of the filtered acceleration signal, detect a presence or absence of a voice based on the at least one calculation, and output a detection signal that indicates the presence or absence of the voice. The device and method are well suited for portable audio devices, such as true wireless stereo headphones, that have a limited power supply.
