Abstract: The present invention relates to a dispersion coating composition for coating of a fiber-based substrate, said dispersion coating composition comprising, in a liquid medium: 50-99 wt% of PHA (polyhydroxyalkanoate) particles, based on the total solid content of the dispersion coating composition, and 1-50 wt% of low molecular weight polyol dispersant, based on the total solid content of the dispersion coating composition, wherein the dispersion coating composition has a total solid content in the range of 20-80 wt%. The present invention further relates to a fiber-based substrate coated with such a dispersion coating composition and to a packaging container comprising such a dispersion coated fiber-based substrate.
