Abstract:
This document discloses a joint system comprising first and second members (1, 2) formed of wood or wood based material. The members are joined in an end-to-end relationship along a longitudinal direction (L) by means of a finger joint (3). An end portion of the first member (1) presents a plurality of parallel straight finger-like projections (31), which enter and engage a plurality of complementary parallel straight notches (32) provided between projections (31) on the second member. A plane (Pt) comprising substantially the entire length of each projection tip (312), and/or a plane (Pn) comprising substantially the entire length of each notch bottom (321), extends at an angle (a) other than a right angle to the longitudinal direction (L).
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a laminated wood component (250) for use e.g. as a door frame or window frame. The component presents a cross section and a longitudinal direction (C), perpendicular to the cross section, and a main fiber direction, which is substantially perpendicular to the cross section. The cross section is substantially constant along the longitudinal direction and the laminated wood product is formed of at least two adjacent wood lamellae (20a, 20b). The wood component presents at least one longitudinally extending face, which is perpendicular to the cross section, and which is planed and/or profiled, and the joint plane (JP1, JP2) presents an angle (A2) to the longitudinally extending face, which is greater than 0° and less than 90°.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a laminated wood product (260, 260', 261 ', 271, 271 ', 280) for use as a construction element. Such a product comprises a plurality of adjacent wood lamellae (20a, 20b), each having a longitudinal direction which is substantially parallel with a principal fiber direction of the respective wood lamella, and a generally trapezoidal cross section providing a major base surface (bs1 ), a minor base surface (bs2) and a pair of opposing side surfaces (ss1, ss2). The lamellae are glued together side surface (ss1 ) to side surface (ss2), such that major base surfaces (bs1 ) of immediately adjacent lamellae face opposite directions. The major base surfaces (bs1 ) define respective major surfaces of the wood product. A thickness of the wood product, as seen in a direction perpendicular to the major surfaces, is about 6-30 cm, preferably 8-26 cm.
