    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing a solid cellulose foam. The method comprises depositing a first wet cellulose foam to obtain a first wet foam deposition, which is subsequently provided with cutting lines extending at least partially through the height of the first wet foam deposition, to form pillars of wet cellulose foam. During drying of the first wet foam deposition, gaps are formed along the cutting lines so that the pillars are separated by said gaps. In a subsequent deposition step, a second wet cellulose foam is deposited so as to obtain a subsequent wet foam deposition that fills the gaps between the pillars. After drying, a solid cellulose foam comprising pillars of a first solid foam deposition and a subsequent solid cellulose foam deposition filling the gaps between the pillars is obtained.
