Abstract: A detection system for detecting RFID tags comprises a cabinet (2) having a door (21) movable between a closed state and an open state. An RFID reader system (27) is provided, and connected to at least one internal reader antenna (25; 25a-d) arranged inside said cabinet (2), for reading RFID tags within the cabinet (2), and at least one external reader antenna (26a-d) arranged outside the cabinet (2), for reading RFID tags outside the cabinet (2). The RFID reader system (27) is configured to detect RFID tags having been moved out from said cabinet (2) based on the readings made by both the internal reader antenna(s) (25; 25a-d) and the external reader antenna(s) (26a-d). A corresponding method is also disclosed.

Abstract: An RFID reader antenna (1) for use in an intelligent cabinet (2), such as a smart fridge, is disclosed. The antenna (1) is configured for operation within the UHF band and has omnidirectional radiation pattern and circular polarization. The antenna comprises a dielectric substrate (11), and a ground plane (12) provided on the dielectric substrate. An aperture (13) forms an open area within the bounds of the ground plane (12). A radiating element (14; 14'; 14''; 14'''; 14'''') is provided on the dielectric substrate in a plane parallel to the ground plane, and arranged within the open area, when viewed from a direction perpendicular to the ground plane (12), and surrounded by the ground plane.

Abstract: An RFID tag (100) is disclosed comprising a dielectric substrate (2) having a first side and an opposite second side, and with an antenna (1) arranged on the first side of the dielectric substrate (2). The antenna defines a gap (14) and is configured to operate at an operation frequency. The RFID tag further comprises an RFID chip (3) electrically coupled to the antenna across the gap (14). A shielding conductor (4) is arranged on the second side of the dielectric substrate (2), and preferably underlaying the gap (14), wherein the shielding conductor (4) is configured to limit the voltage across the gap (14) when the antenna (1) is exposed to a microwave frequency of a microwave oven.

Abstract: An RFID tag arrangement (1) comprises a first (20; 20'; 20''; 20''') and second (30; 30'; 30''; 30''') antenna, each comprising an intermediate feeding part (23; 23'; 23''a, 23''b; 23'''a, 23'''b and 33; 33'; 33''a, 33''b; 33'''a, 33'''b) and two radiating dipole elements (21, 22; 21', 22'; 21'', 22''; 21''', 22''' and 31, 32; 31', 32'; 31'', 32''; 31'', 32''') connected to the intermediate feeding part and extending in different directions. An RFID chip (24) is electrically coupled to each of the intermediate feeding parts. The radiating dipole elements of the two antennas are arranged at a distance from each other, and the intermediate parts are arranged to cross each other at least one crossing point. A dielectric separation layer (4, 5) is arranged between the first and second intermediate parts at said crossing point(s), thereby galvanically separating the first antenna from the second antenna. Hereby, a versatile RFID tag arrangement with very good omnidirectional performance is obtained. A corresponding production method is also provided.

Abstract: An antenna (1) for an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tag (100) comprises two antenna parts (11a, 11b) being arranged at opposite end areas of the antenna, and at least one intermediate part (12) forming a bridge between the antenna parts. One of the at least one intermediate part comprises power feeding areas (13a; 13b) to be connected to an integrated circuit (3). Further, a first gap (14; 14b) is arranged in one of the at least one intermediate part, and has a gap length of less than 80 μm, which forms a low impedance path for current at microwave frequencies.
