Abstract: The invention relates to a light source unit control method and a light source control unit, and a light source unit comprising a filament lamp with a characteristic of having a light quantity changing almost in proportion to a control voltage, which comprise: a current detection sensor connected in series to the lamp; a multiplication circuit for generating a voltage Vw proportionate to the product of a terminal voltage V of the lamp and an output voltage V1 of said current detection sensor; a square root circuit for generating a voltage V2 proportionate to the square root of the control voltage V1; an error amplifier circuit for controlling an error to the minimum by comparing the output voltage Vw of said multiplication circuit and the output voltage V2 of said square root circuit; and a constant voltage power source unit for supplying an electric power to the filament lamp, the unit being connected to an output terminal of the error amplifier circuit, wherein the light quantity of the lamp is controlled by controlling the control voltage.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint collecting device and a fingerprint collecting method which collect fingerprint images in a wide range with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A fingerprint collecting device 100 has a shooting sensor unit 101; a focusing optical system 112f; an optical system driving mechanism 113; a control portion 102; and an image processing portion 103. The shooting sensor unit 101 forms a subject image. The focusing optical system 112f focuses the subject image on a light-receiving surface of the shooting sensor unit. The optical system driving mechanism 113 displaces at least the focusing optical system 112f along an optical axis. The control portion 102 makes the optical system driving mechanism and the shooting sensor unit alternately and repeatedly execute the displacement and image pick-up of the focusing optical system. The image processing portion 103 separately calculates focus degrees of a plurality of small areas configuring the picked-up image. The image processing portion 103 extracts a part image in each small area from a single picked-up image. The image processing portion 103 combines the extracted part images to form the whole image.

Light is applied to the surface for analysis of an object from one of plural illuminating light paths 2a, 2b and a plurality of receiving light paths 3c-3d each receive the illuminating light reflected from the surface for analysis. While an angle of analysis, which is the sum of the angle at which the optical paths 3c-3e receive the light and the angle at which the optical paths 2a, 2b give off light, is varied by the selecting of the optical paths 2a, 2b in sequence, the reflectivity of the light on the surface for analysis is measured and compared with the premeasured reflectivity of light on a reference surface, so as to analyze the surface condition of the object.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily form a transmission type diffraction grating by placing alternately a transparent glass phase and an opaque crystal phase of a linear shape of a prescribed dimension in the inside of a photosensitive glass substrate. CONSTITUTION:A diffraction grating is manufactured by polishing the glass containing a photosensitive metal and in accordance with printing and developing processes of photosensitive glass, which are executed usually. That is, a mask pattern of prescribed line width and pitch interval consisting of a chrome vapor-deposited film is allowed to adhere closely to a photosensitive glass plate and ultraviolet rays are radiated by parallel rays using a high voltage mercury lamp. Thereafter, it is made parallel by polishing the deformation on the surface of glass, which has been generated by a heat treatment. As a result, a diffraction grating in which an opaque part 1 and a transparent part 2 which have been manufactured and crystallized in such a way are arrayed periodically is formed. Accordingly, the process which necessitates precision working scarcely exists, and said diffraction grating has an excellent productivity.

A Z-direction sensor 7 detects the Z-direction position of the inner lead by the variation in the focusing position of the focused spot light. An X-Y direction sensor 12 detects the X-Y direction position of the inner lead by the beam which passes between the inner leads of the frame. Further, a signal processor 11 calculates to compare the output signals from the sensors 12, 7 with a reference signal to calculate displacements in X-Z directions of the inner lead of the frame 1.

Accordingly, a light beam from a light source 5, which is made incident on the incident end of the optical fiber or the optical fiber bundle 8 comes into collision with an uneven part of the end face and the incident angle is diversified. In such a way, a mode which is propagated in the optical fiber is equalized extending from '0'-order to the maximum higher mode, and the emitted light becomes illuminating light whose intensity distribution is similar to a normal distribution.
