Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To widen a size free zone, to make the finish cross section shape about complete round even though the rolling reduction is varied and to reduce the difference of deviated diameter by mutually arranging with an inclination respective roll axes of a pair of rolling roll in a two-roll rolling mill in the inverse direction or the same direction to the advancing direction of the stock to be rolled to execute finish rolling. SOLUTION: The upstream side rolling mill Sn+1 of the last two two-roll rolling mills in a finishing mill group 6 is provided with the reduction regulating mechanism of a pair of rolling rolls 1, and the distance between the roll groove bottoms of the rolling mill Sn+1 is set so as to get closer to the objective finish diameter. The downstream side two-roll rolling mill Sn+2 is provided with the reduction regulating mechanism of a pair of the rolling rolls 1 and provided with the mechanism arranging with an inclination respective roll axes of the roll 1 to the advancing direction of the stock 2 to be rolled. Therefore, the practical size free rolling having the finish cross section shape of about the complete round, the small difference of deviated diameter and moreover the wide size free zone is executed with the two-roll rolling mill.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the durability of a grooved roller by adjusting the temperature of whetting liquid to be supplied to a wire array on the side where a running wire array cuts into an object to be cut independently of the temperature of whetting liquid to be supplied to a wire array on the side where it comes out of the object, and supplying the whetting liquid. CONSTITUTION:A single piece of wire 2 which acts as a linear blade is wound around a groove carved out at a specified interval in the longitudinal direction of grooved rollers 1, 1, 1 retained in freely rotatable manner on the outer periphery of said grooved rollers 1, 1, 1 to form a wire array 3 of wires arranged at a specified interval. The wire array 3 is allowed to run in a single direction by rotating either of the grooved rollers 1, 1, 1. In this case, whetting liquid 7 is supplied to the wire array 3 from a whetting liquid feeder pipe 6a, and a whetting liquid 7, entrained by travelling of the wire array 3, is supplied to an area between a work 5 and the wire array 3. Further, the work 5 is pressed by the wire array 3 by allowing a work lift table 4 to ascend gradually, and is cut to sliced pieces by abrasion action. Thus it is possible to prevent the cutting accuracy from being deteriorated.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the wire cost and to stabilize the cutting accuracy and cutting efficiency, by enlarging the diameter at both end sides of a resin made sleeve on which the grooves in the same depth are engraved more than the diameter of a center part, and forming the shape that the wire winding radius of curvature becomes almost uniform in the roll axial direction with a thermal expansion. CONSTITUTION:A grooved roller 20 is made in a hourglass shape larger than the outer diameter Db of a center part 21b at the outer diameter Da of both ends 21a a resin made sleeve, and is engraved with groove 11-1 in the same width (g) on the resin made sleeve 21, both ands 21a and center 21b of the sleeve are manufactured so that wire winding radius of the groove 11-1 becomes uniform in the roll axial direction, in the state of the grooved roller 20 under cutting being subjected to temperature rising. Because of its becoming in the structure that the wire winding radius after the thermal expansion of the sleeve becomes uniform, the disconnection generation rate of the wire caused by the thermal expansion of sleeve under cutting becomes extremely low, and not only the operation rate of wire saw can drastically be improved but also the loss of a work due to disconnection can drastically by reduced.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To widen the applicable range in sizing by forming a caliver in each roll of the three-high rolling mill at least in a second pass as a shape arranging the arc having a diameter smaller than the diameter of a billet by a specified ratio and a clearance part and rolling into a round bar steel having different product diameter. SOLUTION: To the billet rolled to almost round cross section, the sizing rolling of the round bar steel is executed with 2 sets of the three-high rolling mill mutually shifting 60 deg. angle in the rolling reduction direction. The caliver in each roll of the three-high rolling mill at least of the second pass, is formed as the shape having the arc of diameter smaller than the diameter of the billet by 1-21% and the suitable clearance part. In the case of setting the diameter (dC) of the arc 1-2 at the groove bottom part of the caliver in the second pass to be smaller than the diameter (dO) of the billet 2 by >=1%, a product having the shape shown with the slanting line in the figure, in which three size free rangers exist, is obtd. Therefore, the necessary number of rolls is reduced and further, the roll change can be saved.

The movement of the sleeves with channels in the axial direction is protected by preventing the thermal deformation generated by the temperature rise, and as a result, twisting and bending of the cut channels are eliminated to ensure the flatness of a product wafer.
