Abstract: Disclosed is a method of producing a transgenic plant that has increased growth compared to its wild-type. The method comprises increasing a gene product of a gene specifically expressed during wood formation. The gene comprises the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 15. Also provided is a plant produced by the method, a DNA construct for producing the plant and the wood produced from the plant.
