PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system having an access point which connects a mobile station to a network.SOLUTION: There is provided a system having a mobile station (20) and an access point (15) which connects the mobile station (20) to a network (10). The mobile station (20) has a first mode of operation and a second mode of operation. In the first mode of operation, the mobile station (20) transmits a data packet intended for a further mobile station (25) to the access point (15) and the access point transmits the data packet to the further mobile station (25). In the second mode of operation, the mobile station (20) transmits the data packet intended for the further mobile station (25) directly to the further mobile station (25).

Described is a system which includes a first radio transceiver operating in accordance with a first communication protocol and a second radio transceiver operating in accordance with a second communication protocol. The first radio transceiver transmits a first signal to the second transceiver, the first signal including data related to operation of the first radio transceiver. The second radio transceiver adjusts operation as a function of the data.

The mobile device comprises an application module, a discriminating application programming interface (API) that is executable within the context of the application and configured to receive data related to execution of the application and to determine whether the data is of a type that is to be monitored, and a monitoring API that is executable within the context of the application and configured to extract the data if the discriminating API determines the data is of a type that is to be monitored. The mobile device further comprises a wireless agent configured to extract and transmit the monitored data to the network appliance.
