    Abstract: PURPOSE: To suppress a stress added to a mirror to a lowest level in a high operation frequency level by forming a scanning element, namely the mirror, so that the high speed or high frequency rotary shaft on oscillating components may substantially coincides with the center of the mass. CONSTITUTION: A scanning array 400 is provided with a resonance unsymmerical scanning element including a flexible member consisting of a U-shaped spring 404 with a first arm 402 to which a magnet 408 is fixed and a second arm 410 which is shorter and provided with a flexible holder structure 412 at its upper tip, namely a free tip. In addition, a mirror under the neck part 418 of a mirror 414 engaged between grasping arms 420 and 422 to be fixed onto a spring arm 410 provides a large surface 424, through which the high speed or high frequency rotary shaft 426 is extended. The mirror 414 fixed to a flexible member or the spring 404 is positioned so that the center of the mass of the mirror 414 is essentially coincided with the fast rotary shaft 426 to reduce a distance (r) between the center of the mass of the mirror 414 and the rotary shaft 426 to zero.
