Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition based on polylactic acid, comprising polylactic acid or a compound derived therefrom, and one or more additives, wherein polymethylmethacrylate is used as at least one additive. The amount of poly-methylmethacrylate is preferably at least 5 wt %, based on the total amount of polylactic acid or a compound derived therefrom, based on weight, in the final composition.
