Abstract:
A fixing device is provided. The fixing device includes a backup member that is disposed outside an endless belt that is flexible and rotates to rotate the endless belt, a nip forming member that is disposed inside the endless belt and faces the backup member to form a fixing nip, and a heater that includes a heating layer including an electroconductive filler dispersed in a base polymer to form an electroconductive network and that is interposed in a position corresponding to the fixing nip between the nip forming member and the endless belt.
Abstract:
A fixing apparatus includes a heating roller and a nip forming unit facing the heating roller to form a fixing nip. The heating roller includes a resistive heating layer receiving an electric current to generate heat, and a base material supporting the resistive heating layer, wherein a resistance per unit length of the resistive heating layer at opposite sides in a length direction is less than a resistance per unit length of the resistive heating layer at a center portion.
Abstract:
A fixing member has a releasing layer that includes a releasing layer material. A method of manufacturing the fixing member having the releasing layer includes the releasing layer material. The releasing layer includes a monomolecular layer of organic silane-based compounds.
Abstract:
The fixing apparatus includes a back-up member which is disposed outside a rotational and flexible endless belt and moves the endless belt, and a heating unit which is located inside the endless belt to face the back-up member and forms a fixing nip, and heats the endless belt at the fixing nip. The heating unit includes a support member having a recess formed in one surface thereof, current-supply electrodes respectively disposed at both ends of a length of the recess, and a heating element which is formed in the recess to contact the current-supply electrodes, the heating element including a base polymer and an electrically-conductive filler distributed in the base polymer to form an electrically-conductive network in a base polymer.
