PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a color filter by which occurrence of color mixing can be prevented and color reproducibility can be improved and further to provide a method of manufacturing a solid-state imaging device, a method of manufacturing a display apparatus and a rinse liquid. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the color filter includes a developing processing step of developing an exposed photosensitive colored film and a surface treating step of carrying out surface treatment to the photosensitive colored film developed at the developing processing process by covering the film with the rinse liquid. In the surface treating process, an aqueous solution added with a nonionic surfactant is used as the rinse liquid. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce optical mixture of colors, thereby making it possible to improve color reproducibility.SOLUTION: Two-dimensionally arranged pixels of a solid state image sensor each include at least a flattening film formed on the top side of a photoelectric conversion element, filters formed on the top side of the flattening film, and microlenses formed on the top side of the filters. Some filters in the plurality of pixels are a color filter which transmits light of a prescribed color component and the other filters are a white filter which transmits light of the entire visible light region. The refraction indices of the white filters, the microlenses, and the flattening film have the relationship: white filter≥microlens>flattening film. The present invention can be applied, for example, to solid state image sensors.
