Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an organic light emitting element having an improved aperture ratio and capable of suppressing disconnection of an organic layer and a second electrode; and a display device including the organic light emitting element.SOLUTION: An organic light emitting element includes: a first electrode and a second electrode; an organic layer between the first electrode and the second electrode, including a light emitting layer; and an insulating film covering a circumference of the first electrode from a surface to a side surface thereof, having an internal wall surface which is in contact with the organic layer, and having at least one corner section in the internal wall surface with a ridge line in parallel with the surface of the first electrode.
