A drill system for use with a drill rod includes a support member, and a drill assembly movably associated with the support member and configured to be connected to the drill rod. The system further includes a centralizing device movably associated with the support member and configured to receive the drill rod. The centralizing device includes a movable jaw and a latch arm connected to the jaw and configured to move the jaw between an open position and a closed position for retaining the drill rod. Furthermore, the latch arm has a locking feature configured to hold the latch arm in a locked position to thereby hold the jaw in the closed position.

A breakout wrench for use with a rock drill string includes a frame adapted for mounting to a rock drill feed guide structure, and a sub-frame rotatably connected to the frame about a drill string longitudinal axis. The sub-frame supports a pair of jaw members adapted for radial movement towards and away from one another and to releasably engage a first section of a drill string. The breakout wrench also includes a clamping member supported by the rock drill feed guide structure. The clamping member is adapted to releasably engage a second section of the drill string spaced axially from the first section.
Abstract:
A cam assembly is provided for adjustment of a drill feed guide wear pad. The cam assembly has an eccentric bushing with a shank portion extending circumferentially about a first axis and defining a bore along a second axis. The second axis is generally parallel and offset from the first axis. The bushing has a head portion extending from the eccentric bushing portion, with the bore extending though the head portion. The bushing is sized for insertion into an aperture of a drill feed guide wear pad, and is rotatable causing the shank portion to engage the aperture of the wear pad to provide a camming action to position the wear pad relative to a drill feed guide. The head portion is shaped to interact with a tool for rotating the bushing.

A rock drill system includes a rotatable carousal adapted to hold a plurality of drill rods. A carousal driver is in communication with the rotatable carousal. The carousal driver includes a driver gear and a driven gear. Both the driver gear and the driven gear are coated with a self-lubricating/anti-corrosive layer comprising a metal-containing composition and a fluorine-containing resin. The rock drill system also includes a rod gripper for positioning a drill rod under a rock drill. Another rock drill system of similar design is provided in which the rod gripper includes one or more pivot pins that are coated with a self-lubricating/anti-corrosive layer comprising a metal-containing composition and a fluorine-containing resin.

The feed beam includes a rock drill hammer, a moveable drill string, a rock drill system coupled to the feed beam, a media pressure system coupled to the rock drill system, and a sensor system. The media pressure system includes a high pressure supply path, a low pressure return path, a control valve coupled to the high pressure supply path, at least one accumulator, and a sensor system. The sensor system includes a pressure transducer coupled to the high pressure supply path, the low pressure return path, or the accumulator to supply pressure data, a control unit configured to monitor and compare the pressure data to an acceptable pressure range stored in memory, and a warning apparatus configured to alert the operator of a pressure outside of the predetermined acceptable pressure range.

A removable guide member for guiding drill string components in a drill hole includes and elongated body having a centerline axis with a bore extending along the axis. The body terminates in a head end having a preselected radial dimension with respect to the centerline axis. The guide member is adapted to be threadably connected to adjoining drill string components. The head end radial dimension is preselected to space an outer surface thereof in close proximity to a drill hole sidewall, so that if the drill string begins to deviate out of alignment, the outer surface of the head end will contact the drill hole sidewall to stabilize alignment. The guide member can be inserted into any position along the drill string.

An articulated pre-skimmer mount for a pre-skimmer associated with a drill bit feed unit comprises a feed mounting arm mounted to the drill bit feed unit. A first end is configured for attachment to the drill feed unit and a second end includes a cylindrical mounting shaft and an axial positioning plate. An intermediate arm has a first end comprising a cylindrical sleeve mounted thereto. The cylindrical sleeve has an inner cylindrical opening configured for sliding engagement with the cylindrical mounting shaft and a mating plate configured for locking, face-to-face engagement with the axial positioning plate. A second end comprises a pre-skimmer mounting assembly configured for attachment to the pre-skimmer, wherein an axial positioning plate and a mating plate are operable to disengage, for rotation of the intermediate arm about an axis of the feed mounting arm for alignment of the pre-skimmer.
