An operation apparatus of a sunlight shielding apparatus is provided which is equipped with a fail-safe function so as not to hinder behavior of a dweller or the like, and, in usual operation, unnecessary activation of the fail-safe function is prevented, so that enhanced operability can be realized. In a sunlight shielding apparatus in which an operation cord of an endless type is suspended from a pulley supported so as to be capable of rotating in a head box, and a driving shaft is rotated based on an operation of the operation cord by way of the pulley so as to drive a shielding member, the operation cord 16 is made into an endless type by coupling via a coupling section which is configured to be decoupled with a predetermined first pull force, and a torque limiter 18 is interposed between the pulley 15 and the driving shaft 11, 12, the torque limiter being configured to run idle with a second rotation torque which is smaller than a first rotation torque which is exerted on the pulley by the first pull force.

An operation cord that is excellent in durability is provided. According to the present invention, an operation cord comprising a cord whose both ends are coupled by means of a coupling portion is provided, the operation cord characterized in that the coupling portion has a first coupling part and a second coupling part which are coupled with each other directly or via a coupling member, one of the coupling parts or the coupling member adjacent to each other has a fitting protrusion, and the other of the coupling parts or the coupling member adjacent to each other has a fitting hole capable of fitting with the fitting protrusion, and the fitting protrusion is a solid body.

Provided is a method for manufacturing a ball chain by which ball chains of various circumferential lengths can easily be manufactured. The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a ball chain. The method includes the steps of: forming a first ball chain portion having a hemispheroids at an end thereof, forming either a second ball chain portion having a hemispheroids at an end thereof, or forming a coupling member including a portion that can be coupled and divided and having a hemispheroids at an end thereof; and joining either respective ends of the first and second ball chain portions or respective ends of the first ball chain portion and the coupling member.

Provided is an endless operation cord that is easy to replace. The present invention provides an operation cord including: a main cord having one and the other ends; a first coupling part disposed at the one end; and a second coupling part disposed at the other end. The first and second coupling parts can be coupled together directly or via a coupling member and can be coupled or uncoupled by means of a relative rotation between the adjacent coupling parts or between the adjacent coupling parts and coupling member or a relative movement in a direction other than a length direction of the main cord between the adjacent coupling parts or between the adjacent coupling parts and coupling member.

By operating an endless operating cord (7) in a manner such that same circulates inside a rail (1), solar radiation shielding members (4) are moved along the rail (1). The operating cord (7) includes: a pair of cord parts extending parallel to one another along the rail (1); a first endless edge that hangs down from one end of the rail (1); and a second endless edge that is supported inside the rail (1) by means of a cord supporting part (9). The cord supporting part (9) includes: positioning releasing means (18a, 18b) that release the positioning of the second endless edge with respect to the rail by a tensile force applied to both the paired cord parts in the second endless edge; and a guide member (12) that allows the second endless edge to move at least until the first endless edge reaches the floor surface when the positioning of the second endless edge is released.
