    Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for securing a driveline to a bone are disclosed herein. The driveline can connect an external controller to an implantable blood pump. The bone anchor can include a driveline capture portion. The driveline capture portion can receive the driveline and fix a position of the driveline with respect to the driveline capture portion. The driveline capture portion includes: a driveline receiver that can receive the driveline; and a driveline anchor that can engage the driveline to fix the position of the driveline with respect to the driveline receiver. The bone anchor can include a bone capture portion. The bone capture portion can engage a bone and fix a position of the bone with respect to the bone capture portion.

    Abstract: A blood pump includes a housing and a rotor within the housing configured to rotate along an axis. The rotor may include a hub, the hub having regions with blades and regions without blades. The regions without blades may have a constant outer diameter and may extend along at least one fourth the length of the hub. The regions with blades may have an increasing outer diameter. Blades may be disposed on a downstream end region of the hub and extend downstream of the hub. Blades may begin approximately halfway along the axial length of a motor stator located about a hub and extend downstream of the motor stator. Blades may have portions that produce axial fluid flow and radial fluid flow with improved flow characteristics.

    Abstract: Blood pumps for ventricular assist devices employ a hollow rotor to impel blood through the blood pump. A blood pump includes a housing having a housing inlet, a housing outlet, and a housing blood flow channel through which the housing inlet and the housing outlet are in fluid communication. A motor stator is disposed around the housing blood flow channel and operable to generate a rotating magnetic field. A hollow rotor is disposed within the housing blood flow channel and rotated via the rotating magnetic field. The hollow rotor has a rotor circumferential wall enclosing a rotor blood flow channel. The hollow rotor has at least one rotor blade extending inwardly from the rotor circumferential wall. The at least one rotor blade is configured to impel blood through the rotor blood flow channel when the hollow rotor is rotated via the rotating magnetic field.
