Es wird eine Vorrichtung zum Einblasen von Gas in ein Gefäß offenbart. Die Vorrichtung umfasst einen Gasströmungskanal, mit der Gas von dem Kanal abgegeben werden soll, eine lang gestreckte mittige Struktur, die sich in dem Gasströmungskanal erstreckt, und mehrere Strömungslenkungsleitschaufeln, die um die mittige Struktur angrenzend an das vordere Ende des Kanals angeordnet sind, um an einer Gasströmung durch das vordere Ende des Kanals eine Verwirbelung zu bewirken. Die Vorrichtung umfasst außerdem Kühlwasserströmungsdurchlässe in den Leitschaufeln, die an den vorderen Enden der Leitschaufeln Einlässe und an den hinteren Enden der Leitschaufeln Auslässe aufweisen.

Smelting apparatus comprises a vessel (11) and a solids injection lance (27a) extending through an opening in the wall of vessel barrel (16) into the interior space of the vessel. Lance (27a) includes a central core tube (31) through which to pass solid particulate material into the vessel and an annular cooling jacket (32) surrounding the central core tube (31) throughout a substantial part of its length. Lance (27a) has a mounting structure (61) comprising a tubular part (60) extended about cooling jacket (32) and about twice the diameter of the cooling jacket. Tubular part (60) fits within a tubular lance mounting bracket (62) welded to the shell (16a) of vessel barrel (16) to extend outwardly from the vessel. The lance is held within mounting bracket (62) by clamping bolts (66) acting between flanges (63,65) on tubular part (60)and tubular bracket (62), such that the forward end of part (60) is flush with the inner surface of the refractory lining (16b) of vessel barrel (16). On release of the clamping bolts and removal of a spacer ring (67) between flanges (63,65), lance (27a) can be driven inwardly for some distance by sliding within tubular bracket (62) to break slag accretions to permit withdrawal of the lance.

Apparatus for injecting gas into a vessel including a gas flow duct 31 which receives hot gas through a gas inlet structure 32 at a rear end of the duct. An elongate central structure 33 extends throughout the length of duct 31 and carries a series of vanes 34 for imparting swirl to the gas flow exiting the forward end of the duct. The forward end of duct 31 has an internally water cooled tip 36 and water flows to and from tip 36 through annular passages 43, 44 in the wall of duct 31. tip 36 comprise a hollow shell internally divided by a partitioning structure to form a series of water flow galleries each extending circumferentially around the tip and interconnected for flow of cooling water sequentially through the galleries from the water supply passage 43 to the water return passage 44. The partitioning structure also provides a structural interconnection between inner and outer tubes 37, 39 of the duct wall to transfer gravitational load force from the inner tube to the outer tube when the apparatus is supported vertically through the outer tube.

Aparato de fundición que comprende un recipiente de fundición que tiene una carcasa (11) que rodea un espacio interior del recipiente y una lanza de inyección de materiales sólidos (27) que se extiende a través de una abertura en la carcasa del recipiente (11) dentro del espacio interior del recipiente, incluyendo dicha lanza de inyección de materiales sólidos (27) un tubo de núcleo central (31) a través del cual pasa el material en partículas sólidas dentro del recipiente y una camisa de refrigeración anular (32) que rodea el tubo de núcleo central (31) a través de una parte sustancial de su longitud y provista con pasos internos de flujo de agua (46, 47) para el flujo de agua de refrigeración a través de los mismos, en el que la lanza de inyección de materiales sólidos (27) comprende, además, una parte anular de montaje de la lanza (60) que se extiende alrededor de la camisa de refrigeración anular (32) en una posición espaciada hacia atrás desde el extremo delantero de la lanza (27) para formar en esa posición un segmento de lanza que tiene un diámetro exterior que es mayor que el diámetro exterior de esa parte de la lanza (27) que se extiende hacia delante desde la parte anular de montaje de la lanza (60), la carcasa del recipiente (11) está provista con un tubo de montaje de la lanza (62) que se extiende hacia fuera desde el recipiente alrededor de dicha abertura, y la parte de montaje de la lanza (60) es recibida dentro del tubo de montaje (62) y se extiende dentro o a través de la abertura en la carcasa (11), en el que el recipiente comprende, además, medios de retención desprendibles (66) para fijar la lanza (27) al tubo de montaje de la lanza (62), de tal manera que cuando se libera la lanza (27) se puede accionar hacia dentro del recipiente en una distancia mediante deslizamiento de su parte de montaje (60) dentro del tubo de montaje (62).

Das vordere Ende der mittigen Struktur und die Leitschaufeln werden durch separate Zuleitungsdurchlässe mit Wasser gekühlt.
