Abstract: A method of controlling a froth flotation cell in a froth flotation circuit for separating substances comprises periodically carrying out a control routine to maximise froth stability during the operation of the cell. The control routine comprises changing the gas flow rate to the cell in a series of steps and assessing the froth stability at each gas flow rate and continuing the step changes in the gas flow rate until the froth stability is a peak froth stability or is within a predetermined range of the peak froth stability of the cell.

Abstract: SE REFIERE A UN METODO PARA CONTROLAR UNA CELDA DE FLOTACION POR ESPUMA DE UN CIRCUITO QUE COMPRENDE: A) EVALUAR LA ESTABILIDAD DE LA ESPUMA CON LA VELOCIDAD DE CIRCULACION DE GAS; B) CAMBIAR LA VELOCIDAD DE CIRCULACION; C) EVALUAR LA ESTABILIDAD DE LA ESPUMA DESPUES DEL CAMBIO DE VELOCIDAD DE CIRCULACION PARA DETERMINAR SI LA ESTABILIDAD DE LA ESPUMA HA AUMENTADO O DISMINUIDO; D) AUMENTAR O DISMINUIR LA VELOCIDAD DE CIRCULACION HACIA LA CELDA; E) EVALUAR LA ESTABILIDAD DE LA ESPUMA DEPUES DEL CAMBIO DE VELOCIDAD DE CIRCULACION DEL GAS; F) REPETIR LOS PASOS (B) A (D) HASTA QUE SEA EVIDENTE QUE LA ESTABILIDAD DE LA ESPUMA HAYA ALCANZADO SU VELOCIDAD MAXIMA. DICHO METODO ES UTIL PARA SEPARAR METALES VALIOSOS A PARTIR DE UN MATERIAL DE ALIMENTACION EN FORMA DE MINERAL METALICO.
