Abstract:
An Aggregate Location Dynometer (ALD) in a physical wireless network alerts to a problematic crowd risk using location based services (LBS). An Aggregate Location Dynometer (ALD) comprises a Network Monitor, a Crowd Risk Determinant and an Alert Module. The Network Monitor monitors wireless traffic for a potential viral event, associated with a formation of a plurality of wireless devices. The Crowd Risk Determinant requests location information associated with a plurality of wireless devices in a given area regarding a respective viral event. The Crowd Risk Determinant determines if the viral event also indicates a crowd safety risk, based on the shape and movement of observed wireless devices. The Alert Module triggers an alert of an impending crowd problem when crowd risk is above a given threshold. Historical databases are empirically determined and maintained in the Aggregate Location Dynometer (ALD) for use in viral event and crowd risk assessment.
Abstract:
The current location of a calling device is provided to a called device only to a level authorized by the calling party and/or their servicing network. A configuration file may be maintained in, e.g., a current location privacy settings database. The current location of the calling device is provided to the called device only to the extent authorized, e.g., coarse (e.g., blurred), or precise (e.g., with full detail). The current location of the calling device may be blurred if desired, and is returned to the called device as Enhanced Location based call related information (e.g., Caller ID). The provision of a caller's current location may be tied to an add-on service by the wireless network provider. With such a service activated, the called subscriber with the service will receive otherwise conventional CallerlD information together with the inventive current location of the caller.
Abstract:
A wireless device capable of being located over a network by a requesting party comprises a phone, and a display to display a visually- continuous location privacy slider having at least five stops. Each of the at least five stops corresponds to a given combination of settings within the phone relating to a privacy of reporting of location of the wireless device to a requesting device.
Abstract:
A third, location-based level of security is added to physical possession, and entry of an authorized passcode, of an authentication token (or security token) fob to provide added security based on a location of attempted access to a secure network resource. A current location of the location-based authentication token fob is obtained, and combined with an entered passcode, to form a passcode key. The passcode key is compared against pre-registered authorized passcode keys (including pre- registered authorized locations for use of the location-based authentication token) to determine authorization for access.

Abstract:
A method of location based proximity alert retrieves, from a location based proximity alert physical server, a current location of wireless client devices and determines if it is within a given area. The method accesses, from the location based proximity alert physical server, a physical law enforcement database comprising a restraining order target identifier and a restraining order limit identifier. A geo-proximity alert message is transmitted if the current location of the restraining order target identifier matches the restraining order limit identifier.
