Abstract:
THIS INVENTION CONCERNS SYNERGESTIC COMBINATIONS OF INORGANIC NITRITES AND CERTAIN AMINES WHICH WHEN INCORPORATED INTO ALKALI-METAL SOAP AND/OR ALKALINE EARTH METAL SOAP BASED GREASES INHIBIT CORROSION.
Abstract:
1. A GREASE COMPOSITION HAVING SUPERIOR SHEAR STABILITY, WATER-RESISTANCE AND EXTREME PRESSURE PROPERTIES, COMPRISING FROM ABOUT 65 TO 90 WEIGHT PERCENT OF LUBRICATING MINERAL IOL FROM ABOUT 35 TO 10 WEIGHT PERCENT OF A THICKENING SYSTEM MADE UP OF 25 TO 9 WEIGHT PERCENT OF FIBROUS ASBESTOS AND ABOUT 10 TO 1 WEIGHT PERCENT OF POLYMERIC COATIG AGENT HAVING RECURRING UNITS INCLUDED WITHIN THE STRUCTURES:
(1,2,2,3,4-PENTA(R)-1,2-DIHYDRO-QUINOLINYL-R)N
WHEREIN THE AVERAGE DEGREE OF POLYMERIZATION RANGES FROM 2 TO ABOUT 10, AND R IS SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING OF HYDROGEN, ALKYL RADICALS AND HYDROXYLATD ALKYL RADICALS, SAID ALKYL RADICALS CONTAINING FROM 1 TO 6 CARBON ATOMS.
Abstract:
THIS INVENTION CONCERNS THE USE OF POLYALKOXYLATED ALKYLATED PHENOLS AND POLYALKOXYLATED ALKYLENE DIAMINES AS ADDITIVES TO ENHANCE THE WATER-RESISTANCE OF GREASES THICKENED WITH LITHIUM SOAPS OR MIXTURES OF LITHIUM SOAPS AND CALCIUM SOAPS.
Abstract:
Lubricating greases thickened with fibrous asbestos which fibers are coated with aliphatic (up to 30 carbon atoms) esters of Nacyl (aliphatic up to 30 carbon atoms) aminobenzoic acid.

1376835 Water-resistant greases TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 15 June 1972 [12 July 1971] 27983/72 Heading C5F A water-resistant grease comprises (a) 80- 97 part by wt. of lubricating mineral oil. (b) 2-15 part by wt. of a lithium or lithiumcalcium soap and (c) 0À1-5 parts by wt. of at least one polyoxyalkylated alcohol, polyoxyalkylated alkyl phenol or polyoxyalkylated alkylene diamine. Alternative methods of making the grease are disclosed, in which component (c) (many specified), is added to a heated, preformed grease or in which the soap is formed in situ. The grease may also contain E.P. agents, e.g. naphthenates and sulphurized sperm oil; fillers, e.g. metal oxides, oxidation inhibitors, e.g. phenyl-beta-naphthylamine and diphenylamine; common inhibitors, e.g. alkali metal nitrites, and stabilizers, e.g. fatty acid esters.
