A METHOD FOR THE DYDROISOMERIZATION OF C4-C7 HYDROCARBONS IN THE PRESENCE OF A CHLORIDE ACTIVATED METALALUMINA CATALYST, WHERE THE METAL IS SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING OF RUTHENIUM, RHODIUM, PALLADIUM AND PLATINUM, WHERE THE SELECTIVITY OF THE CATALYST IS ENHANCED BY TREATING THE CATALYST WITY A CARBON OXIDE AT A TEMPERATURE WITHIN THE RANGE OF ABOUT 50*F. TO 400*F.
