Abstract: A tape wrap system adapted for protecting tubular articles comprising an innerwrap covering the surface of the article to be protected and an outerwrap placed over said innerwrap, said innerwrap comprising an impact resistance polyolefin layer carrying a thermosetting adhesive layer on its inner surface and a layer comprising an heat fusable material on its outer surface, said outerwrap comprising an impact resistance polyolefin layer having an heat fusable layer on each surface thereof, said tape wrap system fusing said innerwrap and outerwrap together when heated and thereafter cooled, at least one of the inner or outer wraps being afforded by a blend of heat fusible material and impact resistance material or in that at least one of the heat fusible layers is a blend of heat fusible material and impact resistance material.
