    Abstract: A gas blender comprising a plenum for mixing gases, at least one flow valve, an oxygen sensor, a microprocessor, and driver circuits. The inlet gas port is adapted to be in fluid communication with a supply of a desired gas and the flow valve is disposed between the supply of gas and the inlet of the plenum. At least one driver circuit adjusts the flow valves to change the gas flow rate therethrough and, accordingly, the rate at which gas enters into the plenum. The oxygen sensor measures the percentage composition of oxygen exiting from, or inside, the plenum and generates an output based on the measured percentage composition of oxygen. The microprocessor controls the percentage composition of oxygen exiting from the plenum and is electrically coupled to the output of the oxygen sensor. The microprocessor compares the output of the oxygen sensor to a predetermined level of oxygen and generates a response signal based on the comparison, which is communicated to the driver circuits. The driver circuits are electrically coupled to both the microprocessor and the flow valves and adjust the flow valve so that the percentage composition of oxygen exiting the plenum is maintained at the predetermined level. The blender of the present invention may also include a pressure sensor in fluid communication with the outlet of the plenum.

    Abstract: The device is a self-medicating applicator that can be used for the treatment of animals with a pesticide for the control of pests, e.g., ticks and flies. The applicator device includes a feed bin (5), a reservoir for storage (8) of the pesticide, and a porous column (3) which passes through the pesticide reservoir (8) and bait bin (5). Pesticide, drawn up the column (3) by capillary action, is applied to the animal contacting the column (3) while the animal is feeding from the bin (5).

(Diptera:Muscidae), Aedes aegypti, Culex nigripalpus, Aedes atlanticus, Culex salinarius, Aedes vexans, Culex spp., Simulium spp., Psoroferia ferox, Aedes infirmatus, Drosophila melanogaster, Coccinellidae, Anopheles crucians, Psoroferia columbiae, Culicoides spp., and Aedes spp.- repelling concentration and quantity of substantially pure geraniol and/or a geraniol precursor-containing composition consisting essentially of substantially pure geraniol and/or geraniol-precursor (e.g., geranyloxy-1,3,2-dioxaborinane, digeranyloxydimethylsilane and geranyl glycosides, for example, geranyl 6-O-(alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl)-beta-D-glucopyranoside). The above-stated repellents are described to be useful as such or contained in a polymer which can be a biodegradable polymer such as compositions containing a major proportion of poly(epsilon caprolactone) homopolymers.
