Abstract:
A wheel for a wheelchair according to the present invention includes: an outer wheel or ring mounted on the inner periphery of a tire; an inner ring connected with a wheelchair frame (concentric with the outer ring and positioned inside the outer ring); a plurality of rolling elements interposed between the outer ring and the inner ring, arranged with an interval between each other in a circumferential direction; and a plurality of spacers (retainers or interval-holding members) for holding intervals between the rolling elements. Each spacer is in a shape extending along a circumferential direction of the outer ring and the inner ring, and is provided between the rolling elements respectively. The wheel does not have a hub and spokes, and the inner peripheral side does not rotate, and further the wheel weight is light. The wheelchair of the present invention includes the wheel for a wheelchair.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide wheels for a wheelchair reducing a possibility of damaging the wheels by being engaged with sand and providing a smooth traveling in the wheels having neither hub nor spoke. SOLUTION: This wheel (the driving wheel 13) for the wheelchair is provided with a rail part 12 to be attached to the internal circumference of a tire 53 and block parts 21 and 31 to be attached to a body frame 65. The block parts 21 and 31 are provided with multiple balls 15 and 17, a block inside endless track path 16 for traveling the balls 15 and 17, and, at least, seal members 23 provided in the moving directional front/rear walls of the block parts. The block parts 21 and 31 move to the rail part 12 to rotate the rail part 12. Then, the seal members 23 push aside the sand and the like on the rail part 12. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel for a wheelchair, which is not provided with a hub nor a spoke and whose inner peripheral side is not rotated and wheel weight is reduced. SOLUTION: The wheel for the wheelchair is provided with an outer wheel 13 attached to the inner periphery of a tire, an inner wheel 15 (concentric with the outer wheel 13 and positioned more to the inner side than the outer wheel 13) connected to a wheelchair frame 65, a plurality of balls (rolling bodies) 17 interposed between the outer wheel 13 and the inner wheel 15 with a gap from each other in a peripheral direction, and a plurality of retainers (interval holding members) 18 for holding the interval between the rolling bodies 17. The retainers 18 present a shape extended nearly along the peripheral direction of the outer wheel 13 and the inner wheel 15 and are provided between the balls 17 respectively.
