Abstract: This target indicator makes it possible to increase the accuracy and efficiency of guidance of homing missiles towards a target. For indicating ground targets, it comprises an ovoid casing (15) equipped with a rip cord (4), with a magnet (1) and with a coil (11) for detecting a variation in flux at the time of an impact on a magnetic surface. Arranged inside the casing are a battery (6), an electronic control and transmission circuit (5) and a barrel (2) of pulse generators (13) connected to one another by means of pyrotechnic delay devices (12). The barrel opens out onto a single nozzle (3) inclined relative to the axis (Z) of the casing. After impact on the ground, the electronic circuit (5) commands the ignition of the first pulse generator. The other pulse generators cause jumps until fastened on a magnetic surface by means of the magnet (1). After the detection of the flux variation, electronic circuit (5) commands the ignition of the rip cord (4) for the purpose of ejecting the casing (15) and the barrel of pulse generators (13) and triggers an ultrahigh frequency or infrared transmitter, depending on the particular homing missile to be homed in.

Abstract: An infrared imaging device enabling operation in the panning mode with a very high sensitivity and the facility of viewing a desired part of the observed field. A pyroelectric imaging tube is shifted relative to the observed scene and the infrared image on the target is read in a line by line scan the direction of the line being perpendicular to that in which the image is shifted. The shift takes place at a speed corresponding to a whole number R of line intervals in the course of one image frame scan comprising n=KR lines, with the result that each point is examined K times in the course of K successive frame periods; the video signal is accordingly processed to perform K successive integrations.

Pour marquer des objectifs terrestres, il comporte: une enveloppe ovoïde (15) dotée: d'un cordeau de rupture (4), d'un aimant (1), et d'une bobine (11) de détection de variation de flux lors d'un impact sur une surface magnétique. A l'intérieur de l'enveloppe sont disposés : une pile (6), un circuit électronique (5) de commande et d'émission, et un barillet (2) d'impulseurs (13) reliés entre eux par des retardateurs pyrotechniques (12). Le barillet débouche sur une tuyère unique (3) inclinée par rapport à l'axe (Z) de l'enveloppe. Après impact sur le sol, le circuit électronique (5) commande la mise à feu du premier impulseur. Les autres impulseurs provoquent des sauts jusqu'à fixation sur une surface magnétique, par l'aimant (1). Après détection de la variation de flux, le circuit électronique (5) commande la mise à feu du cordeau de rupture (4), pour éjecter l'enveloppe (15) et le barillet d'impulseurs (13); et declenche un émetteur hyperfréquence, ou infrarouge, selon l'autodirecteur à rallier. Abstract: The system provides lower power consumption and greater compactness compared with existing radar systems by detecting ambient visible or infra-red radiation from the ground. Electronic images of zones of the ground in front of (SA) and to the rear of (SB) the aircraft are obtained by scanning arrays of charge coupled device photodetectors onto which objective lenses focus the light. The photodetectors are read in synchronisation and the video signals are digitally encoded and entered in memories prior to auto-correlation. Real time aircraft speed is obtained from geometric data (h, THETA) and the measured delay time given by the image comparator. Each photodetector cell supplies information to its own memory cell which permits scanning and speed measurement in both the x and y directions.
