    Abstract: The device comprises a bank of Doppler filters (5) which receive the output signals (am,p) from the receiver and generate the output data (Am,n) for each of the distance-speed cases. An electronic attenuator with a threshold (10) has a control input connected to a processing circuit (20). For each distance-speed case this circuit evaluates a control signal (Rs) representative of the ratio of the strongest level output data (AM,n) to the average value of the noise signal of the receiver. The threshold value of the electronic attenuator (10) is a function of the stability factor of the radar system. The processing circuit (20) providing the control signal (Rs) comprises a logical operator (21) which delivers a signal for each distance-speed case, and a summing circuit (22) which calculates the average value of the output data (Am, N/2) provided by the central element of the bank of Doppler filters, and a division circuit (23) whose inputs are connected to the logical operator (21) and the summing circuit (22).
