Abstract: A number of sound signals are recorded by pulse code modulation on a videodisc, each signal being separated from each adjacent signal by a unique subcarrier signal (Fm) recorded on a full turn of the disc. A number of sound signals are recorded on a single multiplex channel, each channel being identified by a channel signal Yn) and the channel signals being recorded in respective disc sectors between recorded synchronising signals (SY). The desired channel and subcarrier signal are selected for the required sound signal by respective selection switches. A reading head then rapidly radially scans the disc until the selected subcarrier is detected by a corresponding filter. Normal head reading then commences. A clock driven ring counter receives and is reset by the synchronising pulses and then passes the selected channel signals to a demodulator, the relevant ring counter output having been selected by the channel slection switch.

Abstract: An equipment for the thermo-optical projection or reproduction of coloured documents is used to obtain the copy at distance. It provides teleprojection or telereprography of documents. The equipment, produces copies by three stages. The first stage records the three chrominances of the document. The second stage projects the three chrominance pictures onto a receiving surface. The third stage erases the three pictures. The equipment has a laser (10) deflectors (12, 13) and a focal lens (11). It also has three mirrors (141-3) three glass-electrode cells (201-3) and three light bulbs (301-3). The cells are connected to a controller (40) to analyse the picture to be produced. the three components of the picture are projected onto a screen (5).

Abstract: The system has the video signals recorded along a spiral recording track on a disc. The disc also has a continuous track, mechanically guiding the optical read-out beam. The video signals are pref. recorded as variations in the surface of the recording tracks e.g. as spaced indents. The guide track is in the form of a spiral rail at the side of the recording track. The indents (30) along the recording track are pref. of constant depth and length, while the guide rail has a constant width. The guide rail may simultaneously act as the recording track, with the indents (30) formed along its upper surface.
