The circuit comprises: 1) a first temperature sensing fuse connected in series with the first conductor, 2) a second temperature sensing fuse connected in series with the second conductor, 3) a three-electrode gas discharge tube, the first electrode being connected to AC neutral, 4) a first MOV connected between the first fuse and the second electrode of the gas tube, and 5) a second MOV connected between the second fuse and the third electrode of the gas tube, wherein the first and second fuses are located in close proximity to the gas tube and the MOVs.
