Abstract: Paper stock flows through a header, a first flat channel, flexible hoses, expansion pipes, pipes of changing cross section, a second flat channel, and a slice nozzle. The nozzle lips are substantially rigid, and conventional sizing across the nozzle orifice is obviated. The structure facilitates ejection of stock from the nozzle in a controlled manner so that the stock remains intact as a wide flat jet a substantial distance beyond the nozzle.
