    Abstract: A speaker horn including a first and a second pair of side walls. The first pair of side walls has a first section and a second section between first and second ends, and the second pair of side walls has a third section and a fourth section between third and fourth ends. The first pair of side walls has, in a first plane including the central axis of the horn and perpendicular to the side walls of the first pair, a shape defined by the following equation: y = a + b.ecx where a, b and c are constants and have values different in said first and said second sections, and the second pair of side walls is, in a second plane including the central axis of the horn and perpendicular to the side walls of the second pair, linear in the third section and an arc in the fourth section.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a speaker system having specific frequency characteristics conformable to the installation environment or the installation purpose. SOLUTION: A speaker unit 1 has a peak in the intermediate sound region because it has a specific directivity. An equalizer 30 provided on the input side of the speaker unit 1 processes an inputted voice signal before being fed to the speaker unit 1. The equalizer 30 is switched, by switching operation of switches 34 and 36, to any one of a state where the voice signal is fed, as it is, to the speaker unit, a state where a resistor 38, a choke coil 40 and a capacitor 42 are connected to flatten the peak part in the frequency characteristics of the speaker unit 1, and a state where the resistor 38 and the capacitor 42 are connected in parallel to attenuate the low sound region of the frequency characteristics of the speaker unit 1.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To narrow directivity while the aperture of a corn speaker is kept small. SOLUTION: A directivity controller 12 is arranged in front of a corn speaker 2. The directivity controller 12 comprises a rear end section 13 that opposes the front of the corn speaker 2, a peripheral surface 16 positioned at the front of the rear end 18, and a front end 14 located at the front of the peripheral surface 16. The rear end section 18 is curved toward the front, and the front end 14 is curved in a projecting shape toward the front of the front end 14. In the directivity controller 12, the maximum diameter D when seen from the front is set larger than the effective vibration diameter of the corn speaker 2.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a sound pressure level (polar pattern) in every loudspeaking direction. SOLUTION: A sound outputted from a speaker driver 2 is fed to a horn 4 formed to be nearly flat through a sound guide pipe 3 and the sound is sounded from an opening 45 of the horn 4. Moreover, the sound guide 3 is coupled with an upper face of the horn 4 and the shape of the coupled part is formed to be a slender rectangle. Thus, it is equivalent to it that a straight line sound source, that is, a linear sound source is formed as a sound supply source to the horn 4. In this state, the loudspeaking distribution of sound emitted from the linear sound source, that is, the directivity is changed by changing the coupling position and the coupling angle or the like of the sound guide 3 with respect to the horn 4.
