    Abstract: Se proporciona una materia prima formadora de fibra de carbono que tiene excelente adherencia interfacial entre fibras de carbono y una resina termoendurecible y capaz de dar un artículo moldeado que tiene excelentes características mecánicas. La materia prima formadora de fibra de carbono es una materia prima formadora de fibra de carbono (Z) como un preimpregnado que incluye fibras de carbono revestidas con agente de encolado y una resina termoendurecible o una materia prima formadora de fibra de carbono (Y) como un material formador que incluye fibras de carbono revestidas con agente de encolado y tiene una forma de tela tejida o una forma trenzada. El agente de encolado incluye componentes (A) y (B). El componente (A) es un compuesto epóxico que tiene dos o más grupos epoxi o dos o más tipos de grupos funcionales. El componente (B) es uno o más compuestos seleccionados del grupo que consiste en un compuesto de amina terciaria, una sal de amina terciaria, una sal de amonio cuaternario, una sal de fosfonio cuaternario y un compuesto de fosfina. El componente (B) está contenido en una cantidad de 0.1 a 25 partes en masa con relación a 100 partes en masa del componente (A).

    Abstract: Provided are a carbon fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin composition, a molding material, a prepreg, and methods for producing same, which offer excellent interfacial adhesion between carbon fiber and thermoplastic resin, and offer excellent mechanical properties. The carbon fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin composition comprising the following components (A) and (B), carbon fiber, and a thermoplastic resin. Component (A): (A1) a bifunctional or higher epoxy compound and/or (A2) an epoxy compound which has a monofunctional or higher epoxy group and has one or more functional group(s) selected from among a hydroxyl group, an amide group, an imide group, a urethane group, a urea group, a sulfonyl group, and a sulfo group. Component (B): 0.1 to 25 mass parts of at least one type of reaction accelerant selected from the group consisting of (B1) a specific tertiary amine compound (salt) [a], (B2) a specific quaternary ammonium salt [b], and (B3) a phosphine compound and/or quaternary ammonium salt [c], with respect to 100 mass parts of the component (A).

Those carbon fiber packages and the carbon fiber packed member solve troubles and inconveniences during use, and also packages which have a high winding density and which do not break easily can be obtained.

    Abstract: A carbon fiber coated with a sizing agent is provided. This carbon fiber exhibits excellent adhesion to a matrix resin, ensures excellent stability of composite physical properties of a prepreg even after long-term storage, and is excellent in high-order processability. A process for producing the carbon fiber coated with a sizing agent, a prepreg, and a carbon fiber reinforced composite material are also provided. A carbon fiber coated with a sizing agent which comprises (A) an aliphatic epoxy compound and (B) an aromatic compound that contains (B1) an aromatic epoxy compound as the essential component, characterized in that the (a)/(b) ratio is 0.50 to 0.90 wherein (a) is the height (cps) of the peak at a binding energy of 284.6eV assignable to CHx, C-C and C=C in the C1S core spectrum as determined by subjecting the surface of the sizing agent to X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy using AlKa1.2 as the X-ray source at a photoelectron emission angel of 15°, and (b) is the height (cps) of the peak at a binding energy of 286.1eV assignable to C-O therein.
