With barrier ribs having a specified form, the strength and the adhesiveness to the substrate board are improved, and a high-resolution plasma display with suppressed meandering, falling and peeling of the barrier rib and wire breakage is provided. In addition, coating uniformity of the phosphor is improved, a high-resolution plasma display with low luminance irregularity is provided. Furthermore, a high-luminance high resolution plasma display with excellent luminance characteristic is provided.

A plasma display having partitions on a board. The ratios between the top surface width (Lt), the half-value width (Lh) and the bottom surface width (Lb) of each partition are within the ranges below: Lt/Lh = 0.65 - 1; Lb/Lh = - 2; where Lt ≠ Lh ≠ Lb. With this constitution, a high-resolution plasma display such that the strength and adhesiveness to the board of the partition are improved and the meandering, leaning, and separation of the partition and wire breakage are suppressed is provided. Further, a high-resolution plasma display such that the coating uniformity of phosphor is good and the luminance unevenness is little is provided. Moreover, a high-luminance high-resolution plasma display with excellent luminance characteristics is provided.
Abstract:
A plasma display where crosstalk at its end sections is prevented by eliminating the jumping and rising of the end sections of a partition which occurs during firing. The plasma display is characterized in that slope sections are formed at the end sections of a stripe-like partition in the lengthwise direction and the height (Y) and the base length (X) of each of the slope sections are 0.5≤X/Y≤100. A method for manufacturing such a plasma display comprises the step of forming on a substrate a stripe-like partition pattern having slope sections at the end sections by using paste for partition composed of an inorganic material and an organic component and the step of firing the partition pattern.
