    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation of a membrane along the grooves of a passage material when pressed against the passage material with high pressure, and to make the membrane difficult to break by interposing a porous sheet- shaped material between the semipermeable membrane and the uneven passage material in a spiral module. CONSTITUTION:The permeated liquid, after passing through a reverse osmosis membrane 13', is allowed to pass through small holes 22 of a porous sheet- shaped material 11 and further through grooves 21 provided on the surface of a passage material 14, and introduced into a hollow space 8. The reverse osmosis membrane 13' is pressed against the flat surface of the porous sheet-shaped material 11 consisting of a substance having rigidity while the reverse osmosis is carried out. Since the surface of the sheet-shaped material 11 is only scattered with the small holes 22, the reverse osmosis membrane 13' is deformed by compression due to the pressure as the whole body, but not deformed locally and strongly.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To lessen pressure loss as well as avoid the adhesion of pollutants onto the surface of semipermeable membrane by making the sectional area of path for original liquid in close proximity to central space larger than that of the others in a spiral type liquid sepatator. CONSTITUTION:The liquid separator 4 connected to the exhaust pipe 7 is built in the cylindrical container 1 sealed with the lids 2 and 3 and also with the original liquid supply and exhaust pipes 5 and 6. The original liquid is supplied through the pipe 5 into the space 18 sealed with the part 17 until filled and then goes into the separator 4 through the original liquid path intake 12. The separator 4 consists of the hollow tube 8 having a great number of pores 9 on its circumference and the laminate 21 wound spirally around the hollow tube. The laminate 21 consists of the path materials 22 and 23 forming paths 15 and 14 for original liquid and separated liquid and the cylindrical semipermeable membranes 13 and 13' in which the ends of adjacent parts inserting the path materials are closed. The opened portion of the semipermeable membrane is led to the pore 9 and also the other end is sealed with the part 10. The sectional area of the original liquid path 15 formed of the path material 21 is made larger than that of the others at the part 15' in close proximity to the hollow tube 8.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an element of uniform quality characteristics described in the title in high yield, by joining into one body a closed tube one or more sides of which are made of semipermeable membranes to flow-path material for permeating liq. and to a hollow pipe for collecting liq., by performing required seal of the joined material, and by winding the materials to form them into a sprial shape. CONSTITUTION:At least one side of a liq.-separating element 5 held in a fluid- separating unit A is a sealed tube 7 made of semipermeable membrane, and plural sealed tubes are wound in spiral shape with the closed ends 11 placed at center. At outer periphery ends of the sealed tube are installed liq.- collecting hollow tubes 10, 10' with hollows continuing to the inside of the sealed tube, and the inside of the liq.-collecting hollow tube and the inside of the sealed tube is joined respectively to outside liq.-tightly. Beteen the sealed tubes is inserted raw liq.-path material 12 for raw liq. path 8. On the other hand, permeating-liq.- path material 13 is inserted into the inside of the sealed tube 7, which constitutes a permeating-liq.path 9.
