    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inexpensive disk cartridge in which there is no fear of warp and deterioration in the appearance even in a severe usage and storage environment such as high-temperature, high-humidity or the like. SOLUTION: A disk cartridge is provided with a synthetic-resin cartridge case and with a shutter, and it houses a disk, for high-density recording, at a recording density of 1MB/cm or higher such as a phase-change optical disk, a magneto-optical disk, a magnetic disk or the like. At this time, the synthetic- resin cartridge disk is moled by an injection molding method or the like while a synthetic resin which contains N-phenylmaleimide as its component is used as a material. As a method of preparing the synthetic resin which contains the N-phenylmaleimide as its component, aniline is reacted with a synthetic resin which contains, e.g. the component of maleic anhydride, and a maleic anhydride group which is contained in the synthetic resin is converted into an imide. In this case, as the synthetic resin, e.g. an ABS resin is used, and the content of the component of the N-phenylmaleimide is set at 5 to 20wt.%.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a substrate of optical recording medium which reduces double refraction and is excellent in transferability. SOLUTION: Molding clamping pressure and/or core compressive force are controlled in plural steps while controlling the molding clamping pressure at a level higher than the core compressive force by which a fused resin within a cavity 24 is compressed during the time from the start of injection and filling until the opening of a mold when the fused resin is injected and filled into the cavity 24 of a molding die 8, to which a stamper 20 is fitted, to form the substrate of the optical recording medium.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a substrate which improves the durability of a cut punch, is less in deformation at the inner peripheral part, is good in machining accuracy and is less in fluctuation over a long period, and further to obtain the substrate which generates little strain at the time of cutting driving holes and enables the reduction of double refraction. SOLUTION: When the fused resin is injected and filled into the cavity 31 of a molding die 20, to which a stamper 30 for forming a groove and/or pit for information recording on the substrate is fitted, and a gate part 40 of the cut punch 34 at the inside of the die 20 is cut to manufacture the substrate of an optical recording medium, the cut punch 34 is constituted so as to be held forwarding and then followed by backwarding, while controlling the cut punch pressure in the releasing direction in plural steps or immediately after the lapse of a very short time or during the time until the opening of a mold after the gate part 40 is cut.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve flowability, transferability and mold releasability at the time of molding a substrate, to mold a high precision substrate and to obtain an optical recording medium having satisfactory recording and reproducing characteristics with the substrate. SOLUTION: A resin compsn. based on polycarbonate and contg. 0.001-0.05wt.% higher fatty acid ester of polyhydric alcohol based on the weight of the polycarbonate is molded to form a substrate. The ratio (Mw/Mn) of the wt. average mol. wt. (Mw) of the polycarbonate to the number average mol. wt. (Mn) is >=2.5 and the viscosity average mol. wt. of the polycarbonate is 13,000-18,000. A recording layer is formed on the substrate.
