Abstract: In order to address the problem of establishing a method for recovering coumaramide obtained by treating cellulosic biomass using an ammonia-containing treatment agent, this method for producing coumaramide is characterized by including: a pre-treatment step for obtaining ammonia-treated biomass by treating cellulosic biomass using an ammonia-containing treatment agent; an extraction step for immersing the ammonia-treated biomass into a solvent containing at least water, and obtaining a coumaramide solution by eluting the coumaramide present in the ammonia-treated biomass in the solvent; and a crystallization step for obtaining a coumaramide crystal by precipitating the coumaramide in the coumaramide solution as a crystal.

Abstract: In a process of producing a sugar liquid from a woody biomass, the conventional techniques have such a problem that a specific component contained in the sugar liquid from the woody biomass remarkably deteriorates the filtration performance when the sugar liquid is filtrated through a microfiltration membrane and/or an ultrafiltration membrane. In the present invention, it becomes possible to improve the filtration performance of the sugar liquid through the microfiltration membrane and/or the ultrafiltration membrane, and it also becomes possible to produce the sugar liquid with high efficiency by hydrolyzing the woody biomass to produce a liquid component and then reacting the liquid component with a mannanase.
