Abstract: A polyester composition comprising 99.8 60 wt.% of a polyester (A) having a terminal carboxyl concentration of 10 equiv./10 g or less ad 0.2 - 40 wt.% of a fluorine-free thermoplastic polymer (B) and containing 0.005 - 1.5 wt.% of an unreacted carbodiimide compound (C); a polyester monofilament produced from the composition; and industrial textile and papermaking dryer canvas both produced from the monofilament, and a rubber molding reinforced with the monofilament. The composition is produced by melt kneading a fluorine-free thermoplastic polymer and a carbodiimde compound, adding a polyester during or after the melt kneading, and kneading the resultant mixture. The monofilament is produced by spinning the composition followed by stretching and heat setting.

SOLUTION: This fishing line comprises fibers containing a composition prepared by including a strontium aluminate represented by the formula SrmAlnOm+3n/2 (wherein m>=2; and n>=3) in a thermoplastic synthetic resin as at least a part of constituent component. The fishing line is obtained by forming a resin coating layer containing the strontium aluminate on the surface of the synthetic fibers.
